Experience

Tim has worked in both the for profit and not for profit sectors. His leadership at
a para church ministry in the Bahamas for almost 6 years saw a 10 percent
growth each year he was there. Under his leadership the systems and process of the operation at the ministry were streamlined and improved.  He has also been in other supervisory roles and taught and trained individuals in the trades.

For many people, the problem is not a lack of ambition but a lack of clarity. When you go through the motions every day, you will often find yourself caught up in the rat race, chasing a vision of success that was handed down to you, instead of one created with care and intentionality.

My Story

Living my legacy has not always been how I lived my life. Although now it is something that I am thinking about and actually trying to live out every day. I love this quote from H. Jackson Brown Jr. because it expresses very well the sentiments of how to live your life!

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

            Maybe you are like me and have lived your life going from thing to thing and not truly finding contentment. An area that exemplified my life early on was to let others, consciously and unconsciously direct my life. I let emotions and excitement guide my life. Don’t get me wrong. All the experiences are what brought me to this place but had I been more purposeful, who knows where my life would have taken me. I do believe that each one of my life’s experiences have brought me to this place and gives me greater insights into impacting others.

            Looking back, I could feel sorry and hold on to the regrets of things that I should have or could have done. As I mentioned each one of those experiences have molded me into who I am today. My experiences have shaped me and positioned me to be a help and guide to others who are feeling stuck or have lost their way and need guidance and accountability to get them to where they desire to go. To help them fulfill those goals and dreams that have either been buried or are ready to explode to accomplishment.   

My Experiences

 My experiences have been deep and wide. I graduated High School and never went to college. While I was serving in ministry though, I was able to go to school part time and achieve my Bachelor of Science in Ministry Leadership. I began my work experience in fast food industry. My varied experiences have been both in the for profit and not for profit sectors. I have worked in retail, the trades, and been a manager of a retail store, was a project manager in the trades, and the director of a camp. Here is a listing of the broad experiences Tim has had.

• Fast food
• Retail in both the clothing business and a department store
• Radio broadcasting with experience in on air broadcasting, sports announcing, copy writing and editing as well as sales.
• Travel agency management
• Lawn maintenance
• Furnace repair
• Plumbing – experienced in both residential and commercial installation, oversight of apprentices and journeymen as well as project management
• Camp – Managed a kitchen and was the camp director

My Values, Cause, and Mission

     What makes me unique is that through all my experiences I know that I have made mistakes. I have observed both good and bad bosses. I have been both a good and a bad boss. Through every experience, I have grown and am learning to be more vulnerable and to be more open in my communication. One of my strengths would be the strength of character. That old saying “do what is right even when no one is watching” would be my motto.

   The next item that sets me apart is my desire to impact the lives of others. Through my experiences and the interactions that I have had, I see a great need for individuals to lead by example. Again, I have not been perfect but that is an advantage because everyone makes mistakes and can recover and lead a life that will be engrained into their legacy. Being a good communicator and connector has been an asset to be able to interact with almost any person, socioeconomic group or job title.

     Leadership can be a challenge. Leadership in the home, on the job or in the community. If the individual is not healthy with a good work life balance, then that effects the work place and in turn that trickles out into the community. My desire to impact lives comes through coaching and leadership development. Knowing that an individual can learn the leadership skills and principles will help them become more successful. This process works on an individual level as well because the process helps the individual examine all aspects of their lives which is paramount to living a more fulfilling life and living out your legacy today.
