Whether on life’s journey for a long time or are just starting out in the teen or high school years, we face challenges in life. There are things we need to purge from our lives, and there are things we need to add to our lives to make us better. Each one of these “things” I refer to are stones.
The idea of this blog came to me from a devotional that referenced Ecclesiastes 3:5 which says that there is “a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together.” We miss the thought behind this passage in today’s non agrarian society. In Biblical times when a person wanted to plant a field they would walk thru their field and pick up the stones and cast them to the side. They were in the way of planting and growing a good crop and were seen as being a nuisance. Those same stones proved to be very useful at other times. When one wanted to build a dwelling, they would gather those same stones that were cast away and mold them into something beautiful like a castle or something useful like a wall for a sheep pen .
We all have stones in our lives. There are some that we need to throw out and there are others we need to gather together. We all have choices, and I hope this blog will help you work thru those challenges and figure out how best to handle the “stones” in your life!
